From d118cd74b6ff342b978b493d56f9306028e364cf Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Peter Powell Date: Tue, 14 Jul 2015 14:37:42 +0100 Subject: Use "NOTICE *" before registration instead of "NOTICE AUTH". AUTH is a valid nickname so sending notices to it is probably not a good idea. Use * as the target instead as done with numerics when the nick is not available. This mimics the behaviour in Charybdis, IRCD-Hybrid, InspIRCd 2.2, Plexus 4, etc. --- man/ngircd.conf.5.tmpl | 2 +- 1 file changed, 1 insertion(+), 1 deletion(-) (limited to 'man') diff --git a/man/ngircd.conf.5.tmpl b/man/ngircd.conf.5.tmpl index 9040043d..7996c628 100644 --- a/man/ngircd.conf.5.tmpl +++ b/man/ngircd.conf.5.tmpl @@ -301,7 +301,7 @@ Default: no. .TP \fBNoticeAuth\fR (boolean) Normally ngIRCd doesn't send any messages to a client until it is registered. -Enable this option to let the daemon send "NOTICE AUTH" messages to clients +Enable this option to let the daemon send "NOTICE *" messages to clients while connecting.
